Saving New Applications in Different Locations and Saving Windows Disk Space

When you install a new app on Windows, it automatically gets saved in the main drive. This can be a problem if you're running out of space on your C: drive. Luckily, there's a way to change where new apps get installed. This way, you can keep your main drive from filling up and save space on your Windows drive.

If you're like most people, you probably have a few apps that you regularly use on your Windows computer. But what if you want to install a new app? Where do you save it?

The default location for new apps is the C:\\ drive, which is usually the main drive on your computer. However, if you have a small SSD or you're trying to save space on your main drive, you may want to consider saving new apps in a different location.

There are a few different ways to do this. One way is to create a new folder on another drive and change the default location for new apps. To do this, open the Settings app and go to the System category. Then, click on the Storage tab.

Under the "Save locations" section, you'll see a drop-down menu for each type of file. For new apps, you'll want to select the "Apps & games" option.

Then, click the "Change" button and select the new location for your apps. You can also change the location for other types of files, such as documents, music, and pictures.

Another way to save space on your main drive is to use the Windows Store apps. These are apps that are designed to work with the Windows Store, and they're usually much smaller in size than traditional desktop apps.

To find Windows Store apps, open the Store app and click on the "Apps" link at the top. Then, you can browse through the different categories or use the search box to find specific apps.

When you find an app that you want to install, click the "Get" button, and the app will be downloaded and installed automatically.

If you're trying to save space on your main drive, you can also use portable apps. These are apps that don't need to be installed, and they can be run from a USB drive or other external storage.

To find portable apps, you can search for "portable apps" on Google. Then, you can download the apps and run them from your USB drive.

When you're finished using a portable app, you can just delete it from your USB drive, and it won't leave any traces on your computer.

No matter which method you use, saving new apps in a different location can help you free up space on your main drive. So if you're running out of space, give one of these methods a try.
