Among Us is a multiplayer online social deduction game developed and published by American game company Innersloth. The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. The game was originally released in 2018 to little mainstream attention, but received a massive influx of popularity in 2020 thanks to many well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it. In either case, the Crewmates can win one of two ways: either by completing all tasks or by identifying and ejecting all Impostors.

Gameplay

In the game, the players are divided into two groups: the Crewmates and the Impostors. The Crewmates are trying to complete tasks around the map, while the Impostors are trying to sabotage the mission. The Crewmates can win by completing all their tasks or by ejecting all Impostors. The Impostors win by killing all Crewmates or by triggering a critical system on the map. The Crewmates have a list of suggested tasks to complete, while the Impostors have a fake list of suggested tasks. The Crewmates have a number of surveillance systems to help identify the Impostors, such as security cameras and an admin system on The Skeld.

Graphics

The graphics of the game are very simplistic, with cartoonish figures resembling armless astronauts. However, many more detailed graphics have been added in later years, such as the skyscraper "MIRA HQ", the "Polus" planetary station, and "The Airship" (based on Infiltrating the Airship from the Henry Stickmin series, also developed by Innersloth).

Replayability

While the game does not offer any custom modes, the game is still highly replayable due to the many different maps to play on.
