"Once Human intertwines the essence of post-apocalyptic endurance with an extraordinary supernatural element, set against a backdrop teeming with bizarre mutations. Its unveiling has sparked immense anticipation and is crowned as the pinnacle of survival games, set for a 2024 release. The veil has been lifted on Once Human, especially after the revealing conversation at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase.
In the aftermath of an apocalyptic calamity, where extraterrestrial Stardust has ravaged the earth, the Metas stand as the sole survivors, humans who have amalgamated with the alien element. Embarking as a Meta, you are to traverse the vast expanses of the Nalcott Continent, adapting through hunting, fishing, and agriculture while compiling resources for bespoke gear creation.
Vigilance is imperative as the Stardust contamination has spawned erratic mutations known as Deviations, with a subset evolving into colossal abominations aiming to eradicate humanity's dwindling echoes. Nevertheless, these Deviations aren't exclusively malevolent, as capturing and employing them for tasks such as material collection, culinary preparations, defensive measures, or personal protectors is possible.
Establishing a stationary or mobile stronghold offers a sanctuary or roaming fortress. Cooperative play enhances survival prospects with over 4,000 Metas per server, necessitating alliances to fend off predatory entities and raiders and embarking on Conquests to acquire coveted treasures.
Set to debut on PC by July 9, 2024, with subsequent console and mobile version announcements pending. The concluding open beta phase hits Steam on June 10, with pre-registration rewards awaiting participants.
