Capcom recently shared exciting details about the much-anticipated action strategy game Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess during their Capcom Highlights Day 1 event. The announcement included a comprehensive look at the game's mechanics and its dynamic gameplay.
In the game, players take on the role of guiding Yoshiro, the Maiden, on a mission to traverse various Torii gates to confront and overcome The Seethe. As players progress, their primary tasks include cleansing the land of corruption, rescuing villagers from danger, and empowering them with mystical masks that bestow unique abilities. These abilities range from melee combat and long-distance attacks to potent spellcasting, depending on whether the villagers are Woodcutters, Archers, or Ascetics.
The game introduces a real-time day-night cycle, adding a layer of strategy as players organize their defenses against the relentless assaults of The Seethe. By nightfall, players must have their defenses in place, crafting strategic points using Tsuba Guards to launch formidable counterattacks. Furthermore, the night allows players to reassign villager roles and positions to prepare for the next wave of monsters.
Each day presents a new challenge, with players tasked with cleaning a gate from the corruption before facing off against the Festering Seethe, monstrous bosses that demand strategy and skill to defeat.
Capcom announced that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is nearing completion and will release later this year on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Excitingly, it will be available on Game Pass from day one, making it accessible to a wide audience of gamers eager to embark on this mythical adventure.
