Dragon Age fans are in for a treat at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) as BioWare gears up for a special presentation featuring Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Following the game's official reveal last month, BioWare has announced its participation in the annual convention on July 26, where a panel consisting of voice actors and developers will delve into the anticipated role-playing game. Excitingly, the studio seems to be preparing to unveil more than initially anticipated.
Based on a report from Temple of Geek, BioWare is expected to reveal new gameplay that offers a closer look at The Veilguard's cast of characters. The "Dragon Age: Meet The Heroic Companions of Thedas" panel will showcase the voices behind characters such as Lucanis, Harding, Emmrich, and Neve. Joining them will be John Elper, the creative director, and Ashley Barlow, the creative performance director.
Those attending the panel will gain exclusive insights into the motivations and inspirations behind each unique companion. Moreover, they will be treated to new gameplay footage, which might include a trailer or an extended segment. This footage will highlight how relationships and bonds are developed through BioWare's renowned conversation system. The event is scheduled to last one hour and will be moderated by GameSpot's host and producer, Lucy James.
Since this panel is exclusive to SDCC attendees, it remains uncertain whether BioWare will release the gameplay preview for the general public on the same day, or if it will be shared at a later date. Currently, no official release date has been given for The Veilguard, although it is anticipated to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC in late 2024.
There is a possibility that an announcement regarding the release date could be made at SDCC alongside the gameplay reveal, but fans will have to stay tuned. BioWare has already provided numerous details about the upcoming addition to the Dragon Age series, including the confirmation that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will offer players several playstyle options as difficulty settings.
