Scribblenauts Unlimited Coming This Holiday
Maxwell has made waves on handheld platforms with Scribblenauts, Super Scribblenauts, and Scribblenauts Remix. Unfortunately, his biggest success has also been his biggest limitation.
This year, things are going to change when Maxwell and his family marches onto the Nintendo Wii U, the Nintendo 3DS, and PCs, drawing on the unique features of each platform to make Scribblenauts Unlimited a true game changer this holiday season.
“Bringing Scribblenauts Unlimited to new consoles lets players become Maxwell and experience the game play in entirely different, inventive ways,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “On Wii U, for example, the game is further enhanced by the touch screen on the new controller giving players an innovative way to interact with the action and a simple way to type in the word of his or her desire.”
Sticking with the side-scrolling theme of the first three games, Scribblenauts Unlimited adds an open world and high-def, hand-drawn graphics.
With the help of Maxwell’s family, players will get a chance to explore Maxwell’s back story and learn more about his parents, twin sister Lily, and that magical notepad of his.
And unlike any of the other games in the franchise, the level of editing in Scribblenauts Unlimited is truly breath taking.
“With new gameplay modes and features, Scribblenauts Unlimited sets no limits on how players can use their imagination,” said Jeremiah Slaczka, C.E.O. and Creative Director of 5TH Cell. “The game breaks the franchise’s previously set boundaries and allows for unlimited creativity.”
The “Open Editor” will be available on the Wii U and PC games. Then, players can take their creations online to show off to friends and strangers. Whether building from scratch or manipulating any of the game’s objects, players are able to bring a level of awesome on par with LittleBigPlanet.
“But, Ben,” you say, “LBP allowed me to bring my creations into the game and show them off in action.”
Well, my simple-minded friend, 5TH Cell plans the same, allowing created objects to become alive in the virtual world.
Scribblenauts Unlimited hits the Wii U, 3DS, and PC this holiday season.
