Old News: Insurgency 2 on Kickstarter
The news is a few days late, but there is still time to help crowd source New World Interactive bring the sequel of the Player’s Choice Mod of the Year to PCs and Macs.
Insurgency was a free-to-play Source mod, receiving millions of downloads in its first week. Based on the success, New World Interactive wants to bring fans a sequel, but they need help to keep the game independent.
“With more and more projects popping up, some feel Kickstarter is getting flooded. We see it as growing, and the projects needing to adapt to a both larger and wiser fan base,” said Jeremy Blum, founder of New World Interactive. “We’ve been listening to the community, playtesting daily and doing our best to make Insurgency 2 the FPS game we always wanted to play.”
New World Interactive hopes to raise $180,000, the amount needed to finish development and publish the game independently. As of this writing, Insurgency 2 raised $7,788 with 77 backers, but you can get in on the action and the rewards by donating to their Kickstarter project.
Insurgency 2 offers fast-paced, strategic first-person action in modern conflict zones. More information can be found at New World Interactive’s website or Insurgency 2‘s website.
