Endless Space Review
0When most people think about sci-fi strategy games, they picture StarCraft. Iceberg Interactive and Amplitude Studios hope to change that paradigm with Endless Space. But is this twist on the genre a refreshment or a bore?

0IMHO: In Defense of Final Fantasy VIII
4I’m tired of hearing that Final Fantasy VIII was not a standout title in one of the greatest franchises known to gaming. Gamers have offered their opinions as to why VIII sucked, so I thought I would offer my honest opinion of why Final Fantasy is my number 1 game of all time, as well as refuting the claims of its suckiness.
Why People Didn’t Like It
Final Fantasy VIII introduced a new style of gameplay that is unconventional to the franchise. Magic is not gained as the player progresses, rather it can be drawn from various enemies and drawpoints. That magic is then junctioned with each character’s stats such as strength, magic, status attacks, elemental attacks, and other defenses to name very few. In order to get these stats to high levels, the game requires exhausting amounts of fighting and drawing; it gets old fast. Beside that, gamers were unhappy with the mechanics of the gameplay in general, being so unconventional and unfamiliar to the rest of the series.

Resident Evil: Mercenaris for the Nintendo 3DS was a total waste of my money. After the first hour of playing I made a mental list of things I would much rather spend my $40 on, and after two hours, I did what any normal person would do. I returned the game and used the money to buy liquor and red hair dye.

Playdead development accomplished much with the release of Limbo by giving us a game with a minimalist story, an original look, and mind-bending puzzles. Limbo was voted the best indie title on PSN for 2011, so does the game rise above other titles, or does Limbo introduce players to purgatory?
Story
Limbo pulls off an entire story with no dialogue and one word: HOTEL. What is this hotel? Who owns it? Is it an homage to Hotel California? Who knows. The best literature is ambiguous, and Limbo’s storyline can be interpreted many ways. As the game begins, the player–a young boy with a sever (more…)
